Lallari continues a dye tradition older than the modern map,indigo grown near Lahore in Punjab, block-printed and screen-printed by hand, and dyed across a full range of natural dyes: a living indigo vat, a hand-simmered madder bath, turmeric, and more the same colours found on mordant-dyed cotton from Mohenjo-daro.
Every vat ferments differently — no two lengths of cloth dye exactly alike.
